"My listing disappeared" almost always means one of three things, a suppressed listing,
an inactive offer, or a lost Buy Box, each with a different root cause.
Suppressed vs. Inactive vs. Buy Box Loss
- Suppressed listing, exists but isn't searchable or buyable
- Inactive offer, your specific offer is turned off, often a pricing error or compliance hold
- Buy Box loss, live and buyable, but a different seller's offer wins the featured placement
Common Culprits Behind Suppression
- Missing required attributes for the category
- An image that doesn't meet Amazon's requirements
- A title or description that trips a restricted-keyword filter
- A pricing error outside the expected category range
- An expired or missing safety/compliance document
Troubleshooting Checklist
- Check the "Issues" or "Suppressed" tab in Manage Inventory for Amazon's stated reason first
- Compare your listing content against a competitor in good standing
- Check pricing against Amazon's minimum-advertised-price logic
- Verify all required compliance documents are current
Suppression is almost always a fixable data issue, not a punishment, but it can sit unresolved for weeks if no one is actively monitoring for it.
How Long Recovery Takes
Most suppression issues resolve within 24-48 hours of the fix. Buy Box eligibility can take
slightly longer since it factors in a rolling performance window.
